Physical Appearance
I find this video highly entertaining because of how accurately it portrays each of the characters on MTV’s hit show “The Jersey Shore”. However, aside from its entertainment value, this video is also a great example of nonverbal communication through physical appearance.
We are all aware that others will judge us based off of our physical appearance and style; it’s human nature. There is always some kind of purpose in meaning behind the way in which we present ourselves. This video is a perfect example of group identification. By watching children reenact the show, it exaggerates this point: physical appearance is intentional. These guys are well aware they are coming off as “Guidos” and “Guidettes” and in doing so, they become part of the group.
This video is also a great example of homophily. According to the textbook, homophily is “perceived similarity in appearance, background, attitudes and values.” Um, these characters even share the same dance moves. Enough said.

I want to begin by saying that this video is the one of the funniest videos I have ever seen. Second, I completely agree with you. This is a good example of non verbal communication through physical appearance. The girls on the show know the kind of attention and comments others will make because of their actions such as: dancing like crazy women showing their underwear to the world,etc.
